We are seeking a highly motivated research assistant to join our team in the Industrial Engineering and Management discipline. This is a unique opportunity to contribute to cutting-edge research in operations and supply chain management, project business, product management, well-being at work, and productivity.
About the ProjectThe research assistant will work on a project titled "Circular economy of batteries - future value chains, business models, technology, and legislation." The project aims to develop the reuse and recycling of batteries in Northern Finland and clarify future focus areas for local companies regarding regional growth, employment, and green transition, particularly concerning electric vehicle (EV) and industrial batteries.
Responsibilities- Conduct research and analysis on circular value chains and business models for batteries.
- Investigate potential second life (reuse) and recycling applications of batteries.
- Collaborate with the research team to develop the reuse and recycling of batteries in Northern Finland.
- Communicate research findings to stakeholders and contribute to the development of future focus areas for local companies.
- Master's degree in Industrial Engineering and Management or a related field.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- Good English language skills.
- Finnish language skills are an advantage.

The position is fixed-term for six months. The salary will be based on level 1 of the demand level chart for teaching and research staff in Finnish universities, with a potential personal performance component (maximum of 50% of the job-specific component). The gross salary will be approximately € per month (before taxes).
