Our mission and why it matters
We are on a mission to make humans the strongest security layer.
Human risk remains one of the biggest vulnerabilities and traditional awareness training is not enough. We take a different approach by combining AI-driven personalization, real threat detection, and behavioral science to actively protect people and organizations.
We don't just simulate risks. We build the tools that detect and stop them.
Why this role matters
You will lead engineering for our data-intensive reporting and integration products, building the core capabilities that enable our Managed Security Service Provider (MSSP) partners to scale efficiently to serve millions of users.
What you’ll own and drive
Delivery leadership and product partnership: Turn product strategy into delivery plans and shipped outcomes by keeping scope sharp, quality high, and momentum constant. Work closely with Product Management every day to solve real customer problems and deliver value.
Technical direction and engineering maturity: Make pragmatic architecture decisions that help our partners operate efficiently at scale, and raise the bar for operational excellence. Build alongside your team in our production stack (Node.js, TypeScript, React, GraphQL, MongoDB, K8s and GCP), maintaining sharp technical judgement without becoming a bottleneck.
People leadership: Own team development, performance management, and hiring for a growing team of 8+ talented engineers.
What success looks like
In your first 3 months you'll build deep context of our people, product, delivery, operations, and establish strong trust with your team and product partners, and take active ownership of the team management.
By month 6 you'll be confidently shaping roadmaps, driving technical solutions, and demonstrably elevating the technical and operational maturity of your team.
What makes you thrive here
You have:
Proven hands‑on Tech Lead or Engineering Manager experience with a product team. You lead by example and by building, not from a distance.
A strong track record of shipping and running large‑scale, data‑intensive SaaS systems with high standards for availability, latency and data quality.
Full-stack competence in our tech stack (Node.js, TypeScript, React, GraphQL, MongoDB, K8s, GCP) and experience operating production systems (observability, incident response, performance optimization).
Strong product and engineering judgment: you can balance speed with sustainability and know exactly when to simplify.
Demonstrated ability to raise the bar: mentoring engineers, setting high standards, and driving a delivery system that scales with the team.
The backbone to push back: you comfortably challenge product, peers, and your own manager when the customer or business is being shortchanged.
Practical, production‑grade AI/LLM engineering experience (or strong proof you can ramp fast). You know how to ship AI‑driven capabilities safely, and you actively use AI tools to multiply your own hands‑on contributions: designing and optimizing the harnesses that allow agents to work optimally, thinking in terms feedback loops and continuous improvement.
Who you’ll work with
You will report to VP of Engineering and work closely with Product Management, Design, and lead your own dedicated team of eight engineers. This is a highly collaborative, team-focused environment where we value candid feedback and extreme ownership. You will act as the critical link between engineering execution and business strategy, ensuring your team has the clarity and support to build world‑class products.
What you can expect from us
Compensation: Monthly salary of €7,000 - €8,500 depending on your experience. You may notice varying salary ranges for roles with similar titles across Hoxhunt; this is because each range is grounded in our role leveling and reflects the seniority, scope, and impact expectations required for that specific role and team, and we operate with a low hierarchy.
Working ways: We work in a flexible, but hybrid work setting. You are expected to work from the Helsinki office 2-3 days a week.
High performance meets high humanity: We bring an incredibly driven, high‑impact energy to our work, but we leave our egos at the door. You will be surrounded by wildly talented, dedicated colleagues in an environment built on extreme kindness, support, and psychological safety.
Authentic trust & autonomy: We hire great people and trust them to do great work. You will find a culture free of micromanagement, giving you the autonomy to take real ownership, drive impact,
