Security Specialist - Incident Response & Penetration Testing

Are you passionate about defending against cyber threats and uncovering weaknesses before they can be exploited? We are looking for a highly skilled and motivated Security Specialist to join our Detection and Response Team. In this role, you will play a crucial part in strengthening our organization's security by conducting penetration testing, responding to cybersecurity incidents, and collaborating closely with other teams to enhance our detection and response capabilities. The position is permanent and full-time. You will have the opportunity to work alongside SOC analysts, product security specialists, and developers to analyze security events, improve response strategies, and proactively address emerging threats. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment, enjoys problem-solving, and is eager to stay ahead of evolving cyber risks.

What you will do

  • Conduct regular penetration testing to identify, assess, and mitigate security vulnerabilities.
  • Participate in incident response activities, including investigation, containment, and remediation.
  • Work closely with the SOC operations team to analyze security events and escalate threats when necessary.
  • Develop, refine, and maintain incident response plans and playbooks.
  • Stay informed on the latest cybersecurity threats, trends, and technologies to continuously improve security defenses.
  • Provide expert guidance and recommendations to improve the organization's security posture and resilience.

What we're looking for

  • A degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
  • Proven experience in penetration testing and incident response.
  • Strong understanding of cybersecurity frameworks, tools, and methodologies.
  • Hands-on experience with SIEM tools and security monitoring.
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills, with a keen eye for detail.
  • Strong communication and teamwork abilities, with the ability to work effectively in a collaborative environment.

The role is based in Helsinki, at the headquarters of Veikkaus. Veikkaus prefers a flexible hybrid work model between a remote workplace and an office.
