JOB DESCRIPTION
We are looking for two pharmaceutical experts for product industrialization work at the production interface in Espoo. Your area of expertise is tablet and capsule formulations. Your responsibilities include e.g. the industrialization of new products (final stage product development), technology transfers and problem-solving for products already on the market, and other product maintenance tasks at the production interface.
Positions are temporary, one position is until 31.8.2026 and another until 30.10.2026. The working model is hybrid and the office location may be in Espoo, or Turku. The work occasionally requires working during production of test batches in evening and night shifts. Depending on previous experience, the job may be filled as Development Manager or Senior Development Manager.
Your Key Responsibilities
You will act as a pharmaceutical expert in designated product and operational development projects, and your tasks will include:
- Transferring and developing product manufacturing processes to production, including planning, implementation, and reporting of related change controls.
- Organizing and monitoring trial batches in production.
- Evaluating and documenting research results, and planning the next stages of product development.
- Planning, implementing, and reporting product process validations.
- Preparing CMC and regulatory documentation.

Our expectations
You have a suitable higher education degree (Master in Science (Pharm.), Engineer). Knowledge of tablet manufacturing processes or formulation development is considered an advantage. You are the person we are looking for if you have a genuine interest and desire to work closely at the tablet production interface as a pharmaceutical expert and want to learn more about commercial-scale manufacturing. Unit Description
The Commercial Product Development & Lifecycle Management (CPD&LCM) organization is responsible for maintaining, enhancing, and further developing the products in Orion's portfolio. We also handle technology transfers and the industrialization of Orion's original products (final stage product development). The open position is in the tablet group, which consists of approximately 50 people in Espoo, Turku, and Kuopio.
Orion's Global Operations covers the entire pharmaceutical manufacturing process, from sourcing of raw materials to the manufacture of products, packaging and delivery to customers. We are also responsible for the industrialization of new products and product life cycle management.
In Global Operations we have approximately 1,600 professionals working in Production, our external supplier network (Externally Sourced Operations) and Fermion Oy (API manufacturing and marketing). In addition, the organization includes Supply Chain & Procurement, Technical Operations, Facility Management, EHS (Environment, Health and Safety), CPD&LCM (Commercial Product Development & Product lifecycle management) and Operations Development.
