Vaasa, Ostrobothnia Region, Finland Danfoss Full time
Job Description

Strategic Procurement in Danfoss Power Electronics and Drives seeks an experienced and self-driven Category Manager for the passives category.

If you are enthusiastic about setting new directions, creating strategies, and building relationships, this opportunity is for you.

You will lead activities globally to ensure a cost competitive and well performing supplier base. You will navigate high-profile negotiations, build robust supply chains, and contribute to Danfoss' commitment to ESG and emission abatement.

So come join Danfoss, where your impact will be significant and your contributions will drive the company's success.

Job Responsibilities

As our new Category Manager, you will be responsible for developing and implementing strategies in the passives area.

You will lead and coordinate the supplier and strategy activities across all sites while building strong relations with key internal and external stakeholders. Furthermore, you will plan and lead negotiations and at the same time build reliable and robust supply chains.

To fulfill the strategic activities, you need to ensure that the supplier governance is in place within category related suppliers. You will also explore future technologies and drive cost reductions from suppliers, executing a sustainable savings pipeline across all levers while utilizing cross-functional teams.

Staying ahead of the curve is crucial, so actively research trends within sub-category and technology including the impact of other industries (e.g., supply, pricing, investments) is key. Understanding the commodity market is essential for success in this role.

Additionally, you will be responsible for the proactive management of supplier performance and relationship, leveraging your experience to act as the key account for Danfoss while leading supplier development activities.

Qualifications

We are seeking a skilled professional with 5+ years of direct category management experience, ideally in passives, electro mechanical, or a related field. The ideal candidate holds a commercial degree or an engineering background at the bachelor's or master's level.

As a person, you are a strong negotiator and networker, adept at building and maintaining valuable relationships with suppliers and stakeholders. Your excellent communication and diplomatic skills allow you to engage confidently with people at all levels of an organization.

Strategic and proactive, you constantly seek opportunities to drive category development and innovation. You thrive both independently and collaboratively within cross-functional teams, bringing a balance of autonomy and teamwork.

With a self-driven and positive mindset, you demonstrate a high level of commitment and a can-do attitude that keeps momentum going and delivers results.

Employee Benefits

We are excited to offer you the following benefits with your employment:

  • Bonus system
  • Paid vacation
  • Possibility to work remotely
  • Pension plan
  • Personal insurance
  • Communication package
  • Opportunity to join Employee Resource Groups
  • State of the art virtual work environment
