Helsinki, Uusimaa, Finland Mirantis Full time

Mirantis is an open cloud company that helps organizations achieve digital self-determination by giving them complete control over their strategic infrastructure. The company combines intelligent automation and cloud-native expertise for managing and operating virtual machines, containers, Kubernetes, and cloud environments.

We empower developers and innovators to create extraordinary products and services by automating the discovery, integration, and operation of the best cloud and open source technologies for their unique needs.

Mirantis is looking for a highly skilled and passionate Senior Fullstack Developer to develop scalable software solutions that deliver exceptional user experiences. As part of the Lens team, you will contribute to the development of Lens, the leading IDE for Kubernetes developers, used by over 700,000 DevOps professionals globally. Lens is built on Electron and powered by modern technologies such as React, TypeScript, and Node.js. The Lens Cloud backends also leverage TypeScript and Node.js, ensuring a robust and scalable infrastructure.

You'll be part of a cross-functional team that's responsible for the full software development life cycle, from conception to deployment. 2. Maintain and optimize existing codebases, addressing performance bottlenecks and improving overall reliability.
  3. Work closely with technical leads, product managers, and community developers to transform ideas into robust, maintainable implementations.
  4. Coordinate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration, remove blockers, and solve complex technical challenges.
  5. Work with level 1 support engineers to help troubleshoot and resolve technical issues.

Quality & Best Practices

  1. Uphold coding standards by conducting thorough code reviews, writing automated tests, and maintaining comprehensive documentation.
  2. Adopt CI/CD pipelines, leverage error reporting and telemetry, and champion best practices to ensure the product's scalability, resiliency, and security.
  3. Explore, evaluate, and integrate new technologies, frameworks, and tools that could enhance product performance or developer experience.
  4. Serve as a mentor and knowledge resource for the team, sharing insights on best practices and emerging trends.

Community Involvement

  1. Engage with the Lens community, responding to feedback, reviewing contributions, and driving discussions around new feature ideas.
  2. Contribute to community events or Lens user meetups to showcase product updates and gather user insights.

Beneficial / Nice-to-Have

  1. Explore ways to integrate AI/LLM capabilities into Lens to enhance developer productivity.
  2. In-depth knowledge of HTTP(S) and proxying at the protocol level.
  3. Understanding of cryptography and security.
Qualifications
  1. 5+ years of software development experience, with a strong focus on full-stack web applications.
  2. Proficiency in React, TypeScript, Node.js and familiarity with Electron or similar desktop application frameworks.
  3. Solid understanding of cloud-native best practices—experience with Kubernetes or microservices is highly desirable.
  4. Understand and leverage common architectural styles and patterns around Microservices, 12-factor apps, and cloud-native app development.
  5. Demonstrated track record building scalable, maintainable, and high-quality applications in agile environments.
  6. Strong knowledge of RESTful API design, including performance optimization, security, and reliability considerations.
  7. Familiarity with large language models (LLMs) and experience integrating AI frameworks or APIs (e.g., OpenAI, AWS Bedrock,...) into web applications or developer tools is beneficial.
  8. Understand and apply quality techniques and practices (automated unit testing, performance analysis, telemetry, and error reporting, continuous integration).
  9. Problem-solving mentality with the ability to quickly learn and apply new technologies.
  10. Passion for clean, maintainable code and an appreciation for great design principles.
  11. Eye and appreciation for great design, high standards for usability.
