Introduction

We are now looking for an Automation Engineer / Lead Automation Engineer to be part of our Anode Casting product team in the Minerals Business Area. In this role, you will work with key automation technologies, such as PLC systems (HMI, PLC, Fieldbus, Remote I/O), servo drives and sensors. Your daily work consists of working with client delivery projects, product development, and product management functions.

This position requires international travel to client sites for short meetings as well as extended stays during equipment installation and start-up.

In our team, you get to work with world-leading anode casting technology delivering casting systems all around the globe. You will work in close cooperation with many different stakeholders, such as product managers, project managers, design engineers, clients and suppliers. We offer you an opportunity to develop yourself to a global level expert in automation and anode casting.

In delivery projects, you will:

  1. Lead and do equipment design work (HW & SW) in cooperation with our automation engineers
  2. Inspect and FAT test manufactured equipment at workshops
  3. Participate in project meetings and in equipment installations and startups at client locations
  4. Drive productization and continuous development to improve the quality and cost effectiveness of our deliveries
  5. Act as an expert in our core competence, casting automation

In product management, you will:

  1. Update product master documentation according to the changes made in delivery projects and in product development
  2. Support services and spare parts sales and delivery
  3. Collect product improvement ideas from internal and external stakeholders
  4. Participate and act as project manager in product development projects
  5. Follow automation technology development

To succeed in this position, you will need:

  1. Technical B.Sc or M.Sc degree in Automation or Electronics, or similar
  2. Experience in Automation Design
  3. Experience in PLC and servo drive programming (Preferably Siemens or AB)
  4. Good collaboration and leadership skills
  5. Good written and verbal communication skills in Finnish and English
